About Me
Dr. Henrietta Evans DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC, GNP-BC

"Life is like a butterfly as it brings many different shapes, colors, and sizes and what would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”
My Story
I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice Dual Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. I began my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1993 while serving my country in the U.S. Army. After serving my country for 8 years, I then went on to pursue an associate's Degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse at Pearl River Community College.
In 2005, I completed my BSN at the University of Phoenix. I then went on to complete my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in 2009 as a Psychiatric NP. In 2010, I completed a Post-Master's Certificate to become a Gerontological NP. I then pursued my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2015. Then in 2017, I completed certification for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) at the Medical University of South Carolina.
I have been providing safe and effective patient care for more than 27 years. I have provided excellent care to patients in various settings to include, including Oncology, Medical/Surgical, ICU, Orthopedics, Emergency Room, Urology, Radiation Oncology, Hospice, Adolescent Psychiatric Units, and Nursing Homes.
I am well-versed in treating the mentally ill by providing quality medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and case management. I believe in holistic mental health and wellness of the mind, body, and soul. I will walk the journey with you to balance both your mental and physical well-being.
My Foundations
&
Philosophy
My foundations and ethical beliefs have helped me to nurture, cultivate, and promote human well-being by showing my patients kindness, compassion, empathy, and humility to anyone that passes through my doors.
My passion in life is to help others when they need it the most. My goal is the help each patient achieve total mental, physical, and spiritual wellness, especially people of color, women with low socioeconomic status, veterans, and the elderly. I find it gratifying to see my patients happy, laughing, and motivated about themselves.
My philosophy of patient care is to use evidence-based care and theoretical knowledge to achieve wellness.
My approach is holistic and I believe in treating one as a whole person. I am an advocate for my patients and believe in helping patients maintain balance in their lives.
