10 YEARS OF PATIENT CARE EXPERIENCE

My Story

I am a proud Doctorate of Nursing Practice provider and Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In 2010 I moved to Texas as an eager undergraduate. In 2015, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University. I went on to work in intermediate care and cardiac intensive care. Those experiences challenged me mentally and physically. In 2018, I completed a life-changing medical mission trip in the Dominican Republic. I realized what I loved in these moments was beyond critical care, and soon after I found my calling, mental health. I transitioned my clinical skills to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment.

Then In 2023, I graduated from the prestigious Texas Christian University with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice, specializing in psychiatric and mental health treatment. My doctoral project was a partnership with a local domestic violence Women's shelter in Fort Bend County. It exemplified the many opportunities available for advanced practice nurses to create change within the community and on a larger scale to impact the populations we serve. I have committed myself to lifelong learning. I am an active member with the American Nurses Association and DNP's of Color.

My Foundations
&
Philosophy

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I am dedicated to helping my clients improve their lives and mental well-being. My foundations and ethical beliefs have helped me nurture, cultivate, and promote human well-being. My approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and respect for each client's unique needs and experiences.

Choosing the right mental health provider can be a difficult decision, but I am here to help. My approach is strength-based, meaning that I focus on my clients' strengths and abilities rather than their weaknesses. My goal is to empower my clients to take control of their mental health and live fulfilling lives. If you are ready to take the first step towards better mental health, I invite you to schedule an appointment with me at Tranquility Behavioral Health LLC.
