My Mantra: "Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it's amazing how prioritizing both can lead to a fulfilling life. Don't forget to follow your dreams while also taking care of your mental health. It's everything and you've got this!"

My Story

It is with immense pride that I embrace the title of Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provider, specializing as a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My journey in healthcare and nursing has been a dynamic and transformative one.

In 2010, my path led me to Texas, where I eagerly embarked on my undergraduate studies. Five years later, in 2015, I proudly graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University. The subsequent years unfolded with experiences in intermediate care and cardiac intensive care, environments that not only posed mental challenges but also fortified my determination to create a meaningful impact in healthcare.

A defining moment occurred in 2018 during a life-changing medical mission trip in the Dominican Republic. This experience unveiled a passion beyond critical care, guiding me toward my true calling in mental health. In the wake of this revelation, I redirected my clinical skills towards inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment.

The year 2023 marked a significant milestone as I graduated from the esteemed Texas Christian University with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice, specializing in psychiatric and mental health treatment. My doctoral project exemplified a commitment to community engagement, involving a partnership with a local domestic violence Women's shelter in Fort Bend County. This initiative underscored the transformative role that advanced practice nurses can play in instigating positive change within communities and on a broader scale, impacting the populations we serve.

My dedication to continuous learning is evident through my active involvement with professional organizations such as the American Nurses Association and DNP's of Color. By staying engaged in these communities, I strive to stay current with the latest advancements in healthcare and contribute to the broader dialogue within the nursing field.

Anticipating the opportunities that lie ahead, I am resolutely committed to leveraging my skills, experiences, and knowledge to make a lasting impact in the field of psychiatric and mental health nursing. The journey is exciting, and I am eager to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of those I serve.

My Foundations
&
Philosophy

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my dedication revolves around the profound commitment to assisting my clients in enhancing their lives and mental well-being. The foundation of my practice is built upon a bedrock of ethical beliefs that guide me in nurturing, cultivating, and promoting human well-being.

In my approach, I prioritize compassion, understanding, and an unwavering respect for each client's unique needs and experiences. Recognizing the intricate nature of mental health, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that fosters trust and empowers individuals on their journey to well-being.

Choosing a mental health provider is a significant decision, and I am here to facilitate that process. My approach is inherently strength-based, centering on recognizing and harnessing my clients' strengths and abilities rather than dwelling on perceived weaknesses. My ultimate goal is to empower clients, providing them with the tools and support needed to take control of their mental health and lead fulfilling lives.

If you find yourself at the crossroads of seeking better mental health, I extend an invitation to schedule an appointment with me at Tranquility Behavioral Health LLC. Together, we can take the first steps towards achieving improved mental well-being, unlocking a path to tranquility and fulfillment.
